350 with hooker headers, aluminum 2.02 / 1.60 heads, air gap manifold and a holley 4777-7 (650) mechanical secondaries and choke.
I have a 6.5 power valve, 67 primary jet, 72 secondary.
It is very flat on acceleration. Idles fine, but I have to really feather the pedal to get it thru the flat spot then it jumps rite up and runs.
The floats are perfect and the mixture screws are 2 full turns out...used a vacuum guage to check them.
Is acceleration from stop to say 3000 rpms affected by the power valve...maybe mine is too small?
Any thoughts on this will be welcome

Primaries don't start feeding until about 3000 rpms, PV feeds at the same time as the main circut throught the boosters, about 3000 rpms, this will vary with engine and setup. Sounds like its runing lean on the idle and transition circut. Are you going WOT from idle or are you saying just normal acceleration from idle you are having to feather?
