Help with steering column
I just spent all night rebuilding a standard steering column (my first ) then after all that work busted the main bearing. I have a t@t column but it is in real bad shape. Those any one know who would have a column I could just buy and get this nightmare over? or some one who could rebuild either of these columns for a decent price?

What year column? Some are a one year only.

Try this website for steering column articles. Jim Shea is a CF member. He is the expert here. Don't under stand while the bearing failed. Something doe not sound right.

I broke the bearing when I was trying to get the steering wheel on. shaft was not coming out of column quit enough so I gave it a light tap to get lower snap ring to seat in proper place then the bearing broke. I tried to down load Jim Sheas's papers and files are empty for some reason.

ok got them now. looking at them now I really dont understand what happened seems to me that the steering shaft should not have moved. I did find out that my standard column is out of a 78 or 79.
