Default engine install questions Vol-2

I had to remove the coil from where the builder had it mounted to the engine to get the motor in. I might could mount it to the firewall but the MSD broacket does not mount flush and that makes it sit out too far the 6al is mounted in the right finder well any problem with putting it there? Also bought a new braided trothal (I'm too tired to spell) cable that is 12" too long what is the best cosmetic way to shorten that?
Thanks

You can place the coil anywhere that it isn't going to get too hot (stay away from the exhaust), but you want to keep the coil wire length to a minimum, to keep resistance down. You can even mount it inside the firewall, under the dash, if you use a bulkhead connector (MSD makes one). What brand is the throttle cable? I know the Lokar ones can be cut and shortened. Take off the braided cover, wrap it tightly with tape, and cut with a a cutoff wheel or a sharp chisel to keep it from fraying. Cut it before you cut the inner cable, to make sure you have enough length.
