Here is a project that Steve Simpson and I have been working on . A mounted 7.4L Big TB with 90LB injectors mounted on a crossfire lid with a ported manifold.....

Looking good. Your TB placement has to be an improvement (mixture-wise) compared to the stock CF system. (I'm using the same TB on my turbo '84, but with a conventional manifold.) Keep us updated with photos.

TB is placed so that distance is as equal as possible to each runner and places the TB directly over the deep valley that runs diagonally across the middle of the manifold between the runners.

Note in this picture that the throttle bores straddle the stock EGR channel in the middle of the plenum. So BIG TB can be used with a stock manifold, although currently I am having a crossfire ported to go under my BIG TB and new lid to better take advatage of the increased flow. The entire EGR will be removed as part of the porting process."

I think that's a wise move. Given that the injectors fire alternately, but the cylinder banks don't always, your system should have better distribution than the stock TB's sitting atop opposite banks.
