head bolt size needed
getting ready to do my heads (stock)
and was wondering what size threads and length
they are?
i want to buy a couple of bolts that i can cut the heads off of and use them for guides when installing
the new gaskets and heads so everything lines up
right.

7/16-14. There are 3 sizes of SB head bolts. short on the bottom mid size on the ends and the long ones are in the middle and top.
short 1 1/2"
middle 3"
long 3 5/8"
Had I known I would have given you a few of the old head bolts I have laying around.
