Default coolant temp sensor

Okay installed aftermarket dart heads-dont see any hole for temp sensor for my autometer guage. My stock heads had a hole on passenger side head that i used-now their is nothing. Were are you guys running aftermarket heads taping into-my sensor looks like a 3/8ths pipe thread. My intake has 4 corner outlets, but they are 1/2 inch pipe thread. My only solution i can think of is 1/2into 3/8ths reducer and stick it in the manifold.

The tstat housing for a later c3 is an ideal spot.

You have only the options you have already explored. You can drill and tap the head for the sender. You can use the manifold ports, using adapters, or you can use a T'stat housing with the port already drilled and tapped.

Is it a capillary tube and mechanical gauge?

Yes it is-thank's fro the info.I thought their might of been something i was missing. The thought of drilling and tapping my darts cnc heads isnt going to happen-i guess ill try the adapters if that will work.

I have a similar problem. I'm using older 2.02 heads that don't have a hole for the temp sensor. For 20 years I had a "T" fitting on the intake heater hose fitting - worked but looks like chit. Now that I have rebuilt the engine - the newer thermostat housing seems like a better option. Do you know the GM part# ?

Thanks
