well I found out why my power steering won't work, and I got the part to fix it(hose). But I saw when I was filling my pump last time, that there was a lot of crap(dirt) down in the pump. I don't know how it go there, but anyway, is the pump an easy peice to remove? If not I don't think the crud is really hurting anything right now. But if I can remove it easily I'll go ahead and clean it out.
I'll look at it while Im "under there" tomarrow. If it looks easy enough I'll do it. It doesn't need it really, and I don't want to be caught up in a massive "while im at it"...
I just had mine off a few months ago. Be sure to use flare nut wrenches on the fittings so you don't mangle the ends - especially if yours hasn't been off the car before. And have a plug / cap ready for the ends of the hoses so they don't ooze PS fluid everywhere. ;) I had the alternator removed at the time so it was really easy to access the pump. ~Juliet
