Default Body is off

Well i got it off ,and yes i did it in a 14x28 garage, had enough room to lift the nose over the motor and back down.Man i want my new garage so bad with my lift,i hate working like this.BUT its off and now i can start the tear down ill move the body out tommorrow night inot the backyard on the body support. Then remove everything from old frame then decide on what im keeping and what im ordering new again. The LS1 will get torn down, heads ported ,new cam, springs pushrods, bump compression up and port throttle body.Block painted electronblue and the rest of motor the silver pearl the intake is done in.The frame will be silver pearl metallic also.Sidepipes will get all welds ground down and smoothed and sent out to be coated. As far as the body replac rocker channels, finish my l88 hood, possibly turning it into a vert.not sure yet then will see what else.

I was just reading your other post about pulling the body and was wondering what the outcome was. Glad to see you were able to do it by yourself. Are you going with a tube frame or back with a stock frame? I am guessing your stock frame has a few issues. Is that the result of the LS motor or was it just a tired frame?

I think the Electron Blue is an awesome color and will look great on the frame you are planning. Are you painting the underhood areas EB also?

yes all underside firewall etc... will be in eb,frame had issues that i really didnt want to bother with,i got a good deal on a frame from dave w. and ill start over on that one.Have alot of plans this time for some changes, fuel supply,tank,etc...Bad part is my brother will be taking this garage in 4 weeks ,i traded him the garage for central air and forced hot air heat system in the house. So hopefully concrete guys will be here this week starting on new one.

Pat

it may be small, but at least you have an enclosed garage to do your frame replacement. We had to do a frame replacement in an open carport last summer/fall

kept the chassis under the carport as we were working on it but the body had to be kept outdoors until we were ready to put it back on the new frame

you will probably be passing within 10 minutes of where I live on your way to Middletown. If you need help loading up the frame or anything PM or email me and I'll give you my contact info.

BTW, are you part of Boardwalk Corvette Club? A good friend of mine is in that club. Mark Richman. He posts on here at times in the C1/C2 section as VNV.

Are you going to use aftermarket repair rockers or graft in factory donors?

Pat, If you saw my body lifting pics in your other post you'll see I did my entire frame off resto in a tent...2 yrs. I'm thrilled the house i bought has a 60yr tiny old one car garage. I can't work on the car in it but it keeps it safe and out of the elements. I'd be a pig in shiat if my garage looked like yours! Any pics of your new garage?
