i have 2 wiper motors but i dont know if either of them work. is there a way to bench check them? i have a 12 volt transformer but dont know what needs to be hooked up to run the motor
has anybody tried this or know of a way to check it ourside of the car? i dont have anything in the inteiror conected so cant really put it back in teh car to test it at the present time
Ground to the body, positive to the center terminal, then ground the top terminal for 1 speed or ground the bottom terninal for the other speed. Remove ground from top or bottom terminals and the motor should park.
thanks for all the replys! i will try the wilcox method. however, would this theoretically work to test the wiper motor itself
I pulled out the motor to clean and regrease the inside of the unit and shaved 1/8" off the wire sheathing to expose the wires and then bypassing everything else, tried to run the motor w/ a 12 volt transformer. It did not work. do i really learn anything by doing this?
