Default Which Edelbrock?

1977 Vette, L48, stock 350 except for headers, true duals and 600 Holley carb. When I bought my Vette, it came with an Edelbrock Streetmaster intake already installed. According to what I've read on the net, this intake was designed in the early 70's, and is not really the best intake for this engine. I think it's more for high rpm racing. I've been looking through the Edelbrock catalog, and the Performer EPS model #2701 (or 27014 for the shiney one) sounds like the one I should be running for a little better low end umph. Does this sound right to you guys, or am I overlooking another model that would be better?? AutoZone has these manifolds for $216.00. Also, is anyone running one of these on their stock 350? I'm not trying to make it a hot rod, just trying to get the best setup possible with what's already there. Thanks in advance.

I would think that you would improve your engine some, not being up on the older intake. Manufactures have to stay competitive with the competition, and therfore improve all the time. I would go with the polished one so that you really have something to show for your effort. Best of luck!

I had looked at that one too, but after doing some checking around I was informed by several on here and by Summit techs that it wouldnt fit under the stock hood, so I went with the 2101 instead. I wanted to keep the dual snorkel setup so that did limit my choices. The endurashine does look nice tho..........

I think the EPS intake should fit with a drop base air cleaner. It's made specifically for and optimized for square-bore carbs, while the standard 2101 Performer is made for square- or spread-bore carbs. The EPS is rated at somewhat better horsepower and torque numbers, but both are excellent intakes.

If you plan on keeping the same air cleaner and snorkel setups, you're better off with the 2101.
