T-TOP hardware question
1980 vette with T-TOPs
The rod that locks the panel in place, can you adjust its lenght ?
Scenario:
The point/tip of the rod(above driver's left shoulder) that comes out to lock the panel in place doesn't seem to be coming out enough.
I've compared it with the other side and its shorter of approx 1/8inch !
With this shorter, I can't seem to lock the panel in properly.
Now I've looked at some diagrams(hardware) and still not sure if the tip can be screwed out to give me the missing gap.
Is this rod adjustable ?

Check the rod inside the roof panel and see if it’s not bent. Sometimes people try to latch the roof panels without the rod in proper alignment. When they force the handle closed the rod can not go in the hole and it will bend.
When this happens, the rod bends ever so slightly and when you go to put the roof panel on the car the rod will appear to short.
Removal of the rod is a not easy, but it can be done.
