Default Battery drain

Hi, I've had an on-going problem with battery drain and so now I'm going to attack this issue in another way. I did remove the fuses and checked the current with a multimeter and got notheing conclusive to hold on to. Here goes...I believe that with the car off and all of the switches off that there should be no drain thru fused curcuits. I'm thinking that the drain is in the wires that are always hot...like the headlites...starter...alternator..cig liter etc. Does anyone know what wires are supposed to be hot when the car is off? I have a 1975 Roadster. Me thinks that I should start over in these areas...yes...no?

I just had a similar problem with my '69 convertible. I thought it was bad wiring with an aftermarket stereo (which I have since replaced with the original), but after some testing, it turned out to be a bad alternator. Also, I put a Quick Disconnect switch on the battery so I can cut the power when not driving it.

Make sure your rear compartment door is turning off the light, take out the bulb and see if it goes dead
