after changing out bad igniation box now starter does not turn over. I took it to AZ for check and they said starter was OK but does that include the solanoid? I have power to positve post on solanoid.
Check the purple wire at the small terminal of the starter, should have power when in the start position. Could be a problem with the neutral safety switch, try moving the shifter around.
Could be an adjustment issue with the new ign switch also.
Do you have power to the inside of the car. Power is fed back thru the starter to the inside of the car. Check to see if possible the wiring harness that go to the starter has not come unpluged. You would never think to look for that. There are also 2 fusible links going to, and coming from the starter that could be bad.

Iassume the starter was working before you installed the new ignition box. Aktbird and Dirtbuster1 both had good suggestions for possible problems. Keep in mind you probably caused the problem when you changed the ignition box; pulled something loose or burned a fusible link with a short.

Thanks for the advise. have tracked the problem down to no igintion signial to starter when key is turned. I have run a jumper to battery from starter and engine cranks harness to starter is plugged in. Problem would seem to be in igniton switch or wire running thu harness to starter, Any thoughts?

Which wire did you jump from the battery. The main red wire, or the purple?
Looks like it was orange at one time. What I did was connect a wire to the other (small) post on the starter and ran it up thu engine bay and into cockpit to battery. Turn on key and touch wire to POS on battery and it turns over, it's like screwdriver but easier. I was going to rig a starter button by running another wire to hot side of starter, til I had time to find problem but my mechnic (the one I had before I tried to become one) came in to eat tonight ( I'm in reataurant business) and told my dad that problem was probally safety switch and to bring it in Mon. morning and he would track it down. I know that's cheating but this is a new install and I want to make it to Bowling Green (and back) Thanks Tom
I'd check the NSS(Neutral Safety Switch) located by the transmission shifter--found out that was bad. It wouldn't even turn over for me...just cut the PURPLE wire w/white line. Hope this helps you!
Thanks Everyone it was the NSS. Jim stopped by on the way to BG and helpped with that. I toke it in to the shop today to let a Pro. give it the once over before I get out on a road trip to Ky in it.
