Default Lost Vaccum

I think I asked this question before but I can't remember the answer. After I installed my new engine at start up I lose vaccum for a minute or two and the driver's headlight will pop-up. Sometimes both come up and when I give it a little gas they will close????

I was told it maybe the cam in the new motor, (355 w/400hp) and someone said it maybe my timing. If its the cam what can I do to fix it?

Oh now I remember asking this question. The fix was a new vaccum check valve. Purchased one from ecklers & didn't not fix my problem.
Anyone need a check-valve??

Thanks
Jim

Make sure that check valve is actually good, cause that is the classic symptom. There most likely are many more leaks in the system that make the problem worse.

I installed the new c-valve and the problem is still there. I was thinking of replacing all the hoses but I didn't have this problem w/the stock engine??
