Default Turn signal flasher location

I have a 77 vette and the turn signals just quit. The fuse is fine and all the bulbs are fine as well. Have replaced the flasher on the fuse box, but think that is only for the emergency flashers. Is there another location for a flasher for the turn signals? Maybe under the dash somewhere?

Yeah the signal flasher is clipped up behind the passenger side knee pad. Just get under the passenger side dash with a flashlight and you'll find it.

The t/s flasher on my '71 is clipped into a clip behind the lower right side of the passenger dash.

Here it is during my stereo install. It's on the floor at the end of the pink wires.

You should be able to just put your hand up under there and feel it next to the vent housing.

I believe it's a 2 prong, with purple to 1 prong and 2 pinks to the other.

My left turn signals work fine, but my right ones just go steady (bulbs light up fine) and don't flash. The right turn signal indicator on my dash just stays steady and doesn't blink like it does when I use the left signals. Do you think the flasher depicted above is my problem? Also, it's the same whether I have the headlights on or not. I have a 71.

Its either a weak ground or a bad switch (or wiring, or a bad battery, or yada yada yada!). Typically lights don't flash if the current through he flasher is low. The easiest fix is usually an electronic flasher. You can also attach a LONG wire to the bat (-) and touch it to each bulb while it should be flashing, or maybe measure the voltage drop between the "REAL" ground (your long wire, or the frame) and the side of the bulb. You can find it with a bit of persistence. Let us know, will you?

Your '78 is the same as the rest. The hazard flasher is on the fuse panel and the signal flasher is behind the passenger knee pad, clipped up under near the courtesy light.

Thanks Durango_boy... Since my courtesy light is not there (yet)... Is that the left or right knee for the passenger?

Thnaks!

The right side, just above the kick panel.

Where can I find the ground and also, what exactly is an "electronic flasher?" Isn't the flasher in there already electronic (hence the need for ground)?

Update: Driving last night the right turn signal intermittingly worked. So that leads me to believe a bad ground or some short in the wiring, correct?

I replaced the flasher w/ an electronic one (Part EL12 at autozone) and everything works great! I think this is the easiest/cheapest thing I've ever fixed on a car. Who would have thought that'd happen on a vette?

I know this is an old thread but I'm having issues with my flashers not working, where is the flasher on the fuse panel? Is it just the fuse? If that's the case then that's fine and it's another issue.

Thanks!

It should be in the upper left corner of the fuse block. This is for the 4-way hazzard flasher. As stated above, the normal turn signal flasher is behind the passenger side lower dash panel.
