I have a stock 1976 L48 with the factory Quadra-Jet.
Is this supposed to be an electric choke; vaccum choke; or heat pull off?
It looks as if mine is a vaccum operated chok, but the guy at the local carb shop said it should be a Divorced choke,..(which I thought was the heat pull of choke).
There is a tube from the upper rear of the carb to the manifold just under the choke. Then another tube from there to the choke. Air is drawn from the rear of the carb, through the pipe in the intake manifold( that one is heated by the exhaust crossover in the manifold ) into the choke to warm the choke spring. There is also a choke pull off that is vacuum operated, it opens the choke slightly when the engine starts to keep it from flooding.

1967-1974 Chevy Q-Jets are Divorced Chokes. 1975-1979 are Hot Air Integral Chokes. 1980-up are Electric Integral Chokes. There is no such thing as a vacuum choke.
