1981 C3 radio question
I bought an after market digital radio that looks like the original. I thought it would be a simple swap out (red wire to fuse that shuts off with key, orange to fuse that remains on, and black wire to ground) Plus speaker wires (yellow to auto antenna, but my vette was replaced with a stationary antenna)
But the original has different plug ins with different wires.
If the car has factory wiring Here are your color codes for the car. Cut the plugs off and wire direct. Leave enough wire on the plugs incase you decide to put the factory radio back in.
Yellow 12 Volts power with key
Black Ground
Gray Illumination for radio/most aftermarket radios you don't use this wire
a lot of your murrys and stuff will sell plugs that connect right to origianl plugs look in to it or like a best buy. may be able to find something to work rater than cutting everything up
