Need Help With Rear Leaf On 68
Morning! I Am Doing A Frame Off 68 And Am In The Prosess Of Reinstalling The Rear. With The Spring Installed I Can't Install Rear Sway Bar. What Do I Need To Do So I Can Compress The Spring To Ride Hide To Install Sway Bar And Shocks? Thanks In Advance For All Your Help.

Floor jack
Been a while since I messed with this, but I think with a floor jack you can catch the very end of the spring (not the bolt but the spring itself) and slowly jack up one end of the spring to compress it enough.

I just did mine this weekend,i run 10 inch spring bolts and it was alot easier,but the sway bar was hard as heck,had to take a pry bar and putrags around it not to scratch the frame and pry down till i got it.Its really tough with no body weight on it.

I put some boxes of old Corvette magazines and a pack of roof shingles on the rear of the frame until I got enough weight so I could use the floor jack on the end of the spring. You can see the swaybar on the floor ready to be put in position.
