The new MC gives you plugs to screw into the ports and then pump untill it gets hard is this a better way? The old way with the the tubes going back into the MC says if the MC does not have check valves to pinch the hose after pushing the plunger so you don't suck the fluid backwards. May be this new way is better since our MCs don't have check valves.

I don't think it matters if it sucks fluid backwards if the stroke is long enough to push a lot of fluid out of the tubes and into the reservoir. Do that enough times and all the air will cycle out, even if it is pulling fluid back in. It won't ever be pulling air, so it doesn't matter.

I have done it with the tubes for years and just recently done one with the plugs...I now find that the plug method will give the same results.
I have also learned that depressing the plunger in only a inch at a time works just fine.
And they say you can't teach an old dog new tricks...
Speaking of dogs... my pup is now house trained! amazing what a dog training book will do. Just roll it up tight and it works great!!!

This has been my experience as well. Long, steady strokes and all the way until it bottoms out.
