79 Rear Spring Removal
I'm having a problem getting the 4 bolts that hold the center of the spring to the rear end. I've only managed to get one of them loose. I don't want to break the bolts or the tabs on the housing. I've been spraying them for a couple of days.
Is it OK to heat them up or will that lead to breaking the tabs of the housing? Is an impact wrench the right tool?
If soaking and an impact don't work, your screwed.
That rear cover is cast iron. It is soft and will crack easily.
Do not hit it with anything or beat on it.
An impact should work.
