Default Excessive Heat

I heard that a way to cut down heat inside cockpit , was to plug both lines from the heater core. First does this really help , and will this hurt anything by cutting off this flow ? I have a 427/ with long water pump.

Do a search on recent topics. There was an article yesterday that talked about installing a shut off in the heater hoses, insulation on the firewall and above the transmission. Insure that the rubber seal around the hood is in good condition to keep the engine heat from recurrculating into the interior of the car.

It will help if excess heat from the heater core is your problem. That is one source of vent system heating. It can also be that engine compartment heat is getting into your fresh air intake....or your ducting servos/doors/controls don't work properly any more.

Point is, you have to diagnose the source of your heating problem before trying to come up with a fix. You also can have excess cabin heating from the floor pan/exhaust system transfer. You would need to put insulating materials under your carpeting to solve that problem [almost all C3's have that problem].
