Yeah, I replaced the whole thing before. I bought new frames and glued new carpet on each door. Should have realized I had to put that in before re-assembly. Damn, mark up the 3rd thing I had to re-do.
Thanks man. I ordered a lot of little finishing stuff this week. I got a new ash tray, dome light cover, the compartment bin, shift boot, acorn nuts, t-top locks stuff like that. Feels pretty good to be doing little stuff.
Now I can move on to some upgrades on the C5: CCW wheels, track tires, heads/cam.
HI Guy's, Dont feel bad I did the same thing to mine.Only thing is when i replaced the door frames i had to sand the doors down a little and forgot they were fiberglass and had NO GLOVES on when i first started. You know what happened after that.I Ed how you doing. Frank>STW< :flag
Hey guys,
I am getting ready to rebuild my rear storage compartment doors and this thread has me confused and wondering how to begin this job.
I have a 68 and I thought all I have to do is remove the doors, recarpet them, replace the frames around edges of doors, and I would be done. Can someone who has been there and done this job give some very specific details, cautions, and procedures so I don't screw this up.
Thank you in advance,
HI,Way to go ED saved me a lot of typing lol. Was just getting ready to do it.I also changed the lens and the bulb in the compartment light switch while is was in there. and the buttons also.Frank :flag
