Default Speedometer Cable Replacement 69

Does anyone know the magic words to remove the speedometer cable from the back of the speedometer? I have the new cable and it appears to not have any way of retaining the end of the cable to the back of the speedometer. Looks like it just should slip in. The one I'm trying to remove seems to have something physically holding it on. What? (It's a real fun place to work ...upside down with my blood rushing to my head.)
Help is appreciated.

OK, I feel the clip (it seems to be at the bottom of the connection) but am having a tough time getting to it and moving it. When you say"push down" is down toward the floor board? Thanks.

Push It Down Till It Touches Back Of Gauge. Hold It Down And Pull Cable Away Straight Out From Gauge. Dont Bend.

No luck yet ... I think I'll wait until my 13 year old daughter gets home to take advantage of her little hands.
