Gentlemen
Great site, been lurking for a couple months and just have to post this... I realize you are all biased to c-3's, so I'm putting this out to you guy's instead of the c-4 site. I love the 68-82 bodystyle, it's my favorite. That being said, hopefully within a year my dream of owning a vette will come true. My concern is the suspension. Can the stock stuff be modded or upgraded to c-4 statis? thanks in advance... Mike
With enough money, anything is possible. You can go so far as to buy a complete and custom tube frame that is set up to accept C4 suspension, and things like high dollar after market suspension.
If you don't feel like going that far you can upgrade most of the components for better suspension and handling.
You can get it to handle as well as a stock C4 with the proper modifications, but the ride will be pretty harsh. I think you can find an acceptable balance between ride and handling without going quite as far as C4-like handling. Also, the steering will never be as sharp as that of a C4. The best you can do there is a Jeep steering box conversion or Steeroids.
you can upgrade them easy. i installed mono front coils, mono rear leaf spring, smart strut rods, off set light weight upper a-arms, bigger sway bars, bilstein shocks, and rack-n-pinion steering. can take corners fast http://s126.photobucket.com/albums/p119/tellcom2001/ view here and shes for sale cheap
