Where can I get a full set of brake lines for my '80 that fit correctly and will ship immediately, Corvette Central is going to be about a month
I ordered a full set of brake lines from In Line recently. They arrived promptly after my order. (7 days?) They ship from Michigan, I'm in Ca.
Even though I found their delivery prompt, their shipping was delayed by a day or so because they had to make my lines. I ordered stainless steel lines with stainless steel fittings. The stainless steel fittings cost an extra $30.
When I searched this out after getting a bum lot of lines (really just one) I decided that inlinetube seemed to be the best bet. ot mine from VB&P and they all seemed to get them from the same place or two. They ofered to make me a custom line but that seemed like a lot of needless work. Stinger might remember a little better than me since it was a few months ago, I see he PM'd you. Problem was the line from the proportioning valve to the rear block. They are different for power and manual brakes and mine came in about 6in to long. I wrestled with it for several hours and almost threw a wrench through the wall. I'm sure the old post is still out there somewhere.
Lay your new lines next to your old ones to make sure one isn't like 6" too long or something.
I remember that post and I don't need a line 6 inches too long, did you cut it and reflare it
Nope. I am now in the process of reordering all new tin bundy fuel and brake lines from a buddy of mine. My stainless steel lines were so bad (the fit of them) that I have to reorder a new set - this time I'm sticking with good old regular steel lines. I sent you a PM - I'd use that information if I were you.
I only had trouble with the front to rear line down the side of the frame. I it into place without really realizing it. I was trying to shove more of it over the rear axle (I had the body on) and bent it a little near the tringular plate in the back. It doesn't quite sit in the stock location but it did not kink or split and so far so good so I'm going to leave it.
