Help please!! '82 4-speed conversion
crawl into your foot well with a flashlight and see if there is a round precut circle with a plug. I am guessing it would be around "10 oclock" in relation to the steering column
This is on my automatic 1981.
Pull the plug and you will (should) see a hole through the metal firewall. The fiberglass "skin" firewall will need to be drilled, but once you have located the factory firewall hole, you just need to drill from the driver footwell out.
this picture is the pilot hole on mine from the inside out, but now looking at the firewall (column, booster and master cylinder removed)

Here, with the steering column reinstalled, but still without the brake booster and master cylinder is the (a) stock clutch rod in relation through the factory 'hidden' hole

this is what a stock 80/81 trans cross member looks like. exhaust pipe(s) would pass under the passenger side (on the left in this picture)

and looking from the ground up with the 4 speed now mounted to the 80/81 automatic/stick crossmember...
I also got a 79 crossmember for the dual exhaust. The thru bolt holes on the chassis and the ones in the crossmember are about 3/8 inch off-the crossmember holes are too low. Also, the park brake cable roller hits the floor and is at a different angle. Am I just stupid or does anyone else know of an easier solution than just making it work???
Now for the driver's seat floor pan
Thanks for the thought, tho.
