so i'm selling a guy my 82 diff so he can put it in his 80 or 81 vette, and he calls me back and says the u joints are a different size. can i just sell him my 82 half shafts, and outer yokes, the ones that bolt to the wheel spindles? will that still give the correct camber once its all put back together?
80-81 autos are a 1330 u-joint size. All 82's are a 1350 series u-joint. He would have to swap out the outer yokes(spindle flanges) and the side yokes in the diff, along with the 1/2 shafts.
thank you guys, that pretty much anwsers my question. the guy owns a garage and the guy who owns the corvette hes working on has been a pain to him...and now hes being a pain to me haha...were actually going to do a fair trade on the halfshafts and yokes, if i dont do that then i lose out on the sale of the diff, he'd want his money back. he already paid for it, but he didnt do his homework on compatibility

the easy fix is to use 'combination' u joints
look closely at the u joint in this picture and you'll see the top and bottom caps are the larger while the side ones are smaller
