Default need help with installing clutch disc

hell..
it's been awhile, last year I had my motor built, and I am getting ready
to install it, except I cant remember what side faces the flywheel..
can you tell me by these picutres what side faces the clutch. it's a centerforce...
also can you tell me the tq amount for the pressure plate and flywheel?
do I need you use locktight on the bolts?

That is an easy one. The side of the clutch disc - where the springs in the hub sit higher- fits into the pressure plate, This way the other side of the disc will lay flat on the flywheel. Lay the disc against the fly wheel. Flip it both ways. You will under stand immediately which way it must go. If you were to install it backwards- the clutch facing will never come in contact with the flywheel there will be a gap caused by the hub making contact rather than the friction material on the clutch disc.
You will be happy with your Center Force clutch . I have one in one of my cars. It has decent pressure not too hard on your leg and grips very well.

Also be sure to wipe your flywheel and pressure plate with brake clean, it needs to be grease/dirt free. I am not sure the tq rating for the bolts are I would guess at atleast 50-70ft pounds I have a book with all that info but it is at home. Yes deffinitely use Locktite!!!

Good luck with your install

Chevrolet shop manual says to pack the recess (groove) on the ID of the release bearing (throwout bearing), and to coat the OD groove with grease. On Corvette models, the manual says use Moly grease. Page 7-3, 1969 Chassis Service Manual.

Cheers,
Pete

PS. I can scan and post the image showing the throwout bearing and where to apply the grease if you would like. I need to change computers to do that - just PM me.
