NEED HELP!!! MSD iniition system
Hi all
I have a MSD 6a ignition system, I had a stoc AC delco dist that had a worn out gear so p bought a MSD street fire dist. during the install the old dist had a accel HEI supercoil setup. there were the orange and black wires that came from the ignition box to the cap marked batt and tach, then there were a purple and green wire that came from the ignition box as well, I went to there site and found that the purple and green wires are for magnetic pickup and the pluged into a wire coming out of the dist. The new street fire HEI setup i bought has no plug for the two wires. There online manual says a "Ready-to-run dist" you do not use these wires, so now i have the orange wire pluged in to the batt side of the cap and the black wire pluged into the tach side as they were on the old setup but I do not have any spark. has anyone had this issue?? No tech support till monday. Any ideas??

I'm considering installing the MSD 6AL and after researching it, I think you need to replace a part within the distributor. I found it at Summit Racing...part number MSD 8861.
I went to this website and pulled up the PDF installation instructions (located at the bottom of the page)...once it downloaded, I went to page 16 and it showed exactly how to install the MSD with a GM HEI set up. I hope this helps!
