Default need help with new fans! HELP

i just installed a new dewitts rad and fan. i triple checked my wiring and the fans wont come on. i pulled the relays apart and i have 12 volts coming in and i have 12 volts coming in on the switch side. they will not come on. they WILL come on if i jump the power side to the fan side, in the relay. its got to be the temp unit in the rad, right? yes it got hot enough. i stopped at 220

Sounds like the relay is not grounding to complete the circuit. I'm not sure how Dewitt's temperature sensors are installed. Try running a jumper from the relay ground terminal and grounding it to a know ground to see if the fans come on. If they do, you will know that the temperature sensor is not completing the circuit to ground.

If the temp switch is in the radiator, you must ground the radiator before the switch will work. If this is the problem, you could also just remove the temp switch wire, touch it directly to ground. If the fans come on, then it's the missing ground or a dead switch.

There you go...the man himself would know. I have a DeWitt's radiator in my 1979 C3. The best install I ever made. It's well made and looks good. When my temperature gets to 180 degrees it stops right there. Thanks for making such a good product Tom.
