Default Lower Control Arm - Removing Shaft

I was hoping to get lower control arms disassembled so I could take them in to get powder coated but I'm having a problem. Can you remove the shaft or not? Here's two quotes from the instructions I'm working off of and the way I'm reading it, the first one says you can't.. but the second implies that it can be removed. Which is it? If it can be removed any tips for getting it done would be appreciated. Bushings are already out.. wasn't that hard, they were practically gone anyway.

Thanks!

Lower control arm shafts cannot be removed from A-arm
Lower control arm shaft must be reinstalled in control arm before installing outer sleeves.

The lower control arm shafts cannot be removed from the lower a-arm UNLESS you remove the bushings and cups. Once you remove the bushings and their cups, only then can the lower control arm shaft be removed.\

So yes, the shaft can be removed.

If you have all the rubber that was in the bushings removed, crush the outer metal sleeve on the single hole side of the control arm. It them can be slid forward and removed from the control arm. Then crush the other outer shell and remove. You will most likely still have on the cross shaft ends the 2 inner sleeves from the original bushings. Soak in PB for a while and rotate or split open and remove.
