First Marvel mystery oil is just trans fluid look it up. Trans fluid has many cleaning properties and thats why is works. Also try a quick fix place exhaust manifold gaskets as a minor leak may sound and seem like a lifter tick.

There are oil treatments that are meant to clean varnish out of lifters/valve train. Buy a can and follow directions. Then change oil and see if ticking is gone. If it has been sitting for some time, chances are that will fix your problem.

When ordering a cam ask for a P-55 there a little more money but well worth it in the end.

Ronaldo? Have you adjusted the lifters with the engine at full temp and running? I may have missed this in the thread but.....definetly try adjusting them before replacing them. Probably just needs a little more preload. Also sometimes adjusting them with it running will free them up if one is sticking.

This will also give you a chance to see if any cam lobes are wiped You can tell by comparing the rocker movement, it will be obvious that one or two rockers barely move. Don't forget to pick up the little clips that hook on the rockers to keep you from getting squirted
