81 dash brake light on

81 dash brake light on

hey guys my friends 81 brake light right between the tach and speedo is on and will not shut off and i tried to mess with it but could not figure it out... Are the 81's like my 75 where that just means the parking brake is on but i tried to mess with the little button beside the parking brake and it would not go off either..

It also means there is a different pressure between the front brakes and rear.Probably have some air in the system.Most likely the rear.

Yup it's air more than likely. Bleed your brakes and reset the brake warning light /pressure differential switch with a heavy brake application.

Happened on my '81 also. The master cylinder had to be replaced.
