Default Broken Bleeder Help

I have a couple of broken bleeder screws. Apparently i didn't learn a good enough lesson when i broke the first one. Of course they are on two different calipers.

I have an easy out broken off in the first one, and am in the process of removing that, which is not a fun task. I tried to drill out the second one and tap out the last bit of metal, but i think i did too much damage in the process for things to work properly.

My next hope was to use bleeder repair kits.

I have had to drill down a bit in the process of trying to remove the broken bleeders, and would like to drill down further to clean things out and have a deep enough hole to allow me to tap for the repair.

What i would like to know though, is if anyone has used the bleeder repair kits. Does the repair kit include the mechanism for sealing the bleeder when it is screwed in, or does it rely on the bottom area of the hole remaining intact for a seal? Also, it seems like the entire repair would then need to be centered properly above the sealing hole within the caliper.

I don't know exactly how the bleeders work, but i assume when you tighten them, the hole in the bottom portion of the bleeder is pushed down into a cup that seals the hole?

For the record, let me just say. Breaking off an easy out in there is definitely something to try to avoid doing

You know it might be easier to find two GM stock calipers used and just have them sleeved, rebuilt, and installed. I would rather have different calipers than repaired bleeder bores. I know there is a large cost difference but that's how I personally would do it.

Just an idea.

You might want to consider stainless steel bleeders. You won't have this trouble again.

the Easy Out just pushes the soft walls of the bleeder tighter against the hole.

Thanks for the input. Looks like I'll be buying a couple of replacements.

I wonder if two half calipers can get a core refund

The repair kits are certainly a low cost solution but I'd be a little concerned about metal flakes from drilling remaining in the caliper even after bleeding them. I've never tried a repair kit so maybe that's not a problem??

Exchange both of them at Auto Zone they won't care about the bleeders. The ones they sell are sleeved.
