Default Stripped threads on A/C fitting....

If it's not one thing, it's another. I just put new hoses in my Vette trying to get my A/C working, hence all my posts. Well, where the hoses attach to the compressor, there's a threaded fitting on the top to screw the R-134 fitting on. Well, the threads on the hose assembly got stripped. Is there ANYTHING I can do here besides buy another $100 set of hose. It still snugs on there and by the looks of it, I feel it should work. Whoever desinged this set-up wasn't thinking because I have a VERY hard time attaching any fill or guage hoses due to the belt adjustment bracket being in the way. It's VERY frustrating.

Default AC Fitting

I had the same problem on my 78.
I used an elbow on the charge hose and had to remove the bolt holding the AC Comp., install charge hose and reinstall the bolt.
Should have picture when I come home from work.
