Default Power Steering Flow Control Valve

The steering has always been "twitchy" on my car. The past owner installed an Fbody serpentine belt. Last night while pluming in my new hydrobooster I realise that they didn't change the power steering pump flow control valve when installing the 92 Camaro power steering pump. Does anyone know where I can get a new valve. I need one that is 16mm-1.5 so I am guessing an 80-83 would work.

What does the valve have to do with it? It only switches which way the assis assists

Feel is determined by the flow valve in the pump outlet.

If your ride feels twitchy, have it aligned first. Have the shop set mroe caster and a little toe in (not out)

I have already had the car on the alignment rack a couple times.
If you increase the flow coming from the pump it will change the feel of the steering.

Oh, I misread your post. I thought it read steering control valve, it said flow valve oops I agree with you, it's the flow valve (I put that in my reply)

Don't know where to get one. For that reason I have a KRC pump, they have many different valves.

I just found this. Maybe it will be the cure to my problem. I would like to find a cheaper solution though.

Good info on changing the flow valve with some GM part numbers here:
http://jeffd.50megs.com/Pump_valve_mod_page.htm

Mullins Steering has a shim kit for the flow valve that you can buy for less than $20.
http://mullinssteering.carshopinc.co...d/72849/899001

From another site:
More shims equals less pressure.
From Mullins instructions:
"Pressure Chart
The following chart is for reference only different pumps may vary pressures. Mustang rack and pinions generally require Approx 1000PSI.
No Shims 1350PSI
1 Shim 1200PSI
2 Shims 1100PSI
3 Shims 1000PSI
4 Shims 850PSI
5 Shims 700PSI"
Note: these shims are in addition to the shims already in a stock pump according to Tom at Mullins.
