khubert,
I have the AIM for the 68. And I live not too far from you. Give me a shout through the email and I can stop by this weekend.
There is a screw that goes from the engine bay through the firewall. That is probably what is hanging you up. Anyway if you want some help then send me an email. wsh68@hotmail.
The screw that holds the outside connector to the fuse box inside has a 3/8 head on it. It's a pain to get to but can be done. If your vacuum tank is out it's much easier to access.
It's there, right in the middle. I used a 1/4" rachet and a deep socket. I want to say it's 3/8's of 7/16". Didn't have to remove the vacuum tank, but it is easier to reach underneath.
Thanks to everyone, knew you all would come through. It was a PITA to get to, but finally got it. It is a 3/8, and you definitely need an extension. Removing the vac tank would make it real easy, but thats not the Vette way. Thanks again for all your help.
