Vent door cables
I have removed the attaching bolt and now I need to slip the round spiral end of the cable off of the vent door. It won't come off,either up or down. Is there a retainer somewhere I am missing.I am doing this by feel as my back won't let me crawl under the dash. My AIM manual is still a couple days from arriving. Thanks.

There is a round "hat" type retainer that keeps the cable from coming off the link arm. You need to have good access to remove it if you want to save it. It has fingers that stick up to keep it from coming off the link. If you can get new retainers you can use a pair of pliers to distort it and it will slip right off.
