Default C3 rear height adjustment

I did a search and found info on adjusting the height but I still have a few questions

I noticed my right rear is higher than my left by more than an inch. The mono springs is in good shape and everything else: trailing arms/assembly, brakes, s-rods & shocks on both ends are new. Yep, I missed this bolt.

The bottom of the left fender at mid wheel is 28 3/8ths, with a 3 finger tire/fender gap and the same spot on the right is at 29 3/8ths, with a 4 finger tire/fender gap.

I want to level both off around 28"-28 3/8". I tried to make an adjustment but the OEM bolts, approx 7", don't offer much room for adjustment and the bushings could use replacing.

It appears by lowering the nut I'm lowering the height, am I correct?
Should I go with a larger bolt?
I found the bolts available at Duntov Motor Co, is there anywhere else I could get them?

Thanks

I found this 8" bolt kit at Ecklers but there's no cotter pin, is that ok?

Yes the new nuts are a Nyloc nut and don't need a cotter pin. The nylon in the nut holds the bolt so it does not back off.

Thanks, I just ordered kit w/the longer bolts from Ecklers.

I got both sides to within an inch of each other but the threads are maxed out(top of the thread and the other at the bottom). The longer bolts will give me the thread room I need.

Curious how you are measuring the height? Datum points?

I'm using a sheet metal yardstick from the level garage floor to the fender at the center of the rear wheels, then I measure the gap between the tire and the fender. I've got a 1" height difference at the moment. Not much but it's noticeable when looking at the back of the car from 10 feet away and more importantly, it's annoying the **** out of me. I should've replaced these bolts & bushings when I replaced everything else a few weeks ago but I over looked it.

You should measure from the frame not the body. You may have worn body mounts.

I originally thought it was the body mounts and ruled it out after measuring frame to floor. The mounts are in good shape considering their age but at some point the preventative maintenance voice in my head will kick in and I'll tackle the job.

I'm using the fender until it's not visually noticeable. I'll take it out for a ride so it settles, measure frame to floor and start over again if needed. Am I on the right track?

I'm no expert, but your probably changing the height of the opposite front of the car every time you adjust a bolt in the back.

True, also something as simple as a low tire or eneven pressure can cause a symptom like this and it's easy to check.
