LT-1 Head Identification
Hoping someone can answer my questions!
Were the 'camel hump' or 'double hump' heads used on any other passenger vehicles other than the Corvette, Camaro or Nova?? Other than casting number, how can they be identified by just looking at the pattern on the front of the head?
I have a set on my corvette that visually look to be camel or double hump, but the casting number is 8991492...as far as I can see through the oil fill cap.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

70 LTVette The Number Should Start With A N0 3 Like 3991492 They Had 1.94i 1.50e And 2.02i 1.60e Valves. They Were Made As Late As 1973 The Hump Markings Look Similar To A Pair Of Old School Dumbell Weights Sliced In Half Crossways, I Know Weird Description! They Have The Same Hump Markings As The Z-28 186's The 462's,291's Double Hump Markings Have Large Humps. Castings No 3990462, 3917291 Hope This Helps You Out. Peace Lynn

Thanks Lynn...much appreciated. Maybe the 8 is a 3 and with my age, just can't see it very clearly. I know that the correct ones for the car should be 3927186. They definitely have the description you mentioned in you reply so I think there are 'camel hump' heads, just don't know what type of vehicle they may have come from. I'll keep asking around.
Thanks again
