Default Windshield rust

I have a 74 stingray and the window frame is good except for the very bottom above the wiper arms. Im new to this whole corvette restoration does anyone have any tips or places to look for replacement parts. And know how expensive this would be.

Thanks

Post some pics if you can. Do a search for "water leak" , "birdcage rust" etc. There are many threads on this subject.
You will find vendors for the windshield parts in there too.

Zip Corvette's catalog shows some stuff for Windshield Frame. My quick look through Mid-America and Corvette America both didn't turn anything up, but that was a very quick read through.

If you're new to the restoration side of the game, the fun side, do yourself a favor, and anytime someone mentions a parts supplier, go order one of their catalogs off the internet or whatever. I just got my car back after a 3 year hiatus, but I've found that is the best way to ensure you get the right part at the right time for the right price. I've got 3 right now and 3 more on the way, I've ordered from most of the suppliers at one time or another, but having the catalogs easily available is invaluable. Especially the ones with pretty pictures, so you can hold it up next to that whatsit that fell off of...where again?...makes life infinitely easier.

As far as I know, nobody sells the lower windshiled frame section, only the uprights, corners and top piece. But some forum members have donor cars they get these from. I got one from vettesbydesign here in the forum. He cut a real nice section for me when I did my w/s frame. Also, paulywannafly has some available. You can also try Gary Gruhala. All great to deal with.

These may be a good way to get some good used items. But you can still find new out there also. I got the NOS upper and lower corners and upper and lower cross bars for my 68 from "PIPERS"

That was true until last year but now Caladonia and 1 other vendor is making the lower corners, but I can't remember who, its in here somewhere.
Here is a contact for Caladonia. I just called and they are closed til 7/7 for vacation.
