Default Options for stainless steel BB headers?

Hi again, it has been awhile since I last posted. Changes in my job, the birth of my son, and moving into a new home pulled me away from the vette for awhile but now I am back again.

I am wanting to get a set of 2 inch primary headers for my 496. I currently have 1 7/8" Hooker Super Comps. They fit pretty well, but they are choking my motor down a tad and that is why I want to switch. I either want some stainless headers or I will go back to ceramic coated headers. I may end up going back with the 2 1/8 Hookers, but I have heard they need a lot of lovin from the BFH to fit a shark.

Last time I checked, Stainless Works had the only "off the shelf" BB vette headers available. I don't want to shell out for custom headers such as Kooks. Are there any SS BB headers out there other than Stainless Works?

I don't know what heads you are using but I put the 2 1/8 Hookers on my 75 with a 540 BB using GM heads. No problems fitting up or installing.

I am running Edelbrock Performer RPM rect. port heads. On my other set of Hookers, I had to take a die grinder to them to create clearance for the head bolts. Other than that they fit fine.

Hmm, I guess I will just have to go back to ceramic coated headers. I really would like to have some stainless ones though. I have some polished SS QTP headers on my LS1 Camaro and they look great, and the sad thing is that the Camaro is my daily driver and it never gets put in shows.

Default Stainless works?

What's wrong with the Stainless works headers? I mean other than price? I contacted Stan's and only if I took my car in there could they fab up a set.

I am still planning on ported exhaust manifolds. what do you reckon?

There is nothing wrong with Stainless Works headers as far as I am aware, other than price. I was just looking to see if there were some slightly cheaper alternatives in stainless out there.
