Is there a number code somewhere on the car or is it just the year of the car that you can tell if it was originally blue or orange? Mines orange but something I read somewhere, when I was trying to decode the VIN, said my 79s motor was originally blue...

, but there was some very, very early '77s that still had the orange painted motors. I saw a '77 last year, very original car, VIN# was like #00486 and it was unrestored and had an orange painted engine.
