I have a 76 corvette and looking to add some chrome or polished headers. I am looking to find the best headers for around $400 that will add some kick and sound to my car that will properly fit without major modifications.
I was planning on picking up some headman headers from summit but read some other posts and noticed that some models did not fit.
I gotta tell you, they are a great deal. They sound great with 2.5 inch exhaust and magna flows. And with 400 bucks, you can get the headers, the pipes, and, depending on if you do the pipes yourself or not, the mufflers too. Can't beat that with a stick.
If you do it all yourself you can have a complete 2.5 true dual system for 400 no problem. I have the summit headers and they are just fine. They fit easy and have not let me down over the past couple years. I did wrap them which costs about 100 bucks to do just to try and cut down on engine bay/cabin heat.
Venom; don't know about hp increase but i also have the summit ones and they did improve the sound. And the price is almost unbeatable when i bought them about 9 years ago they cost 50 buck, and they are like new (raw finish) now they cost around 90 buck?
I'll second the Stan's Headers!! Get them ceramic coated if you can, you won't regret it. These things fit like a header should lots of clearance and no dinged tubes etc. Very high quality!!
