Default Wheel alignment / front and rear.....

Gents
Need some input on above subject.

1980 Corvette
For the road safety of the above vehicle, I had to change the front t-rod sleeves. Of course by doing that, a wheel alignment was required.
Drove to a qualified garage with the latest tech machines.
He ligned up the front with no problem.
For the back wheels, a bit of work and new parts was sugested/required to be able to ligned them up properly. At the time I felt the garage was looking at me with $$$$$ in their eyes
I drove out without touching the rear....
The vet is way better than ever. Before the alignment I was serpentining all over the road With the front ligned up, way better !
All 4 wheels were balanced and there is no shaking at the steering wheel....
I've notice that it still pulls to the right. While moving I straighten up and let go of steering wheel. The vette will drive straight for approx 15seconds and then suddenly I'm pulled to the right.(feeling like driving in strong winds !)
Could that be the back wheels ?
Any input on what happens when the back wheels are out of alignment ?

Phil

15 seconds is a long time for the car to not drift. That may be a problem with the P/S balance valve. The "extra parts" they need for the rear is a shim assortment so they can set the toe. The rear camber is easily adjusted with the cam bolts. My alignment was $200.

A lot of places won't even touch rear tow. A good shop will explain to you about the toe adjustment. If it hasn't been touched, everything will be too rusty for an adjustment unless the bushings and shims are replaced.

Yep that's true. Too many other things affect drift, rather than just alignment:

* Brakes
* Road Surface
* Tire Condition
* Tire Tread
* Mechanical condition of suspension
* Ride Height/Spring Sag

Any C3 that goes 15 seconds hands-free is golden. Don't touch it!

Mine goes straight for that long, or maybe a little bit more, and the upper control arm bushing most definitely need replaced.

Leave it be!
