I crafted a set of custom headers for by '68 big block car to use side pipes. Part of this process I used Stahl flanges which do not allow my temp sensor which was mounted in the head to be used. My first thought was to put it in the intake up by the waterneck. Upon further reflection my operating temp in the head by the exhaust ports was probably reading high all this time.
Has anyone moved these around and seen a difference on the factory gage? I have an electric fan operating off the waterneck crossover so now I am out of places to grab temperature (heater hose is in the other side). Logically I could expect a 20 degree swing depending on where I pick it up at. Anyone put one in the side of the block somewhere?
