Yeah it sounded like it could have used a tad more flash in the converter.....at least from the video..HOLY **** it sounded good when it came on though.....Sounded like he sprayed it a couple car lengths out of the hole when it came on.. All on a stock rear end and driveshaft? That is a true sleeper right there..... Thats EXACTLY what I want my car to be... Although I am curious how easy it is to live with on a weekend driver basis(aka. 500 mile weekends etc)...
What a great car....
The rearend is stock, but I did upgrade to a 3" aluminum driveshaft...
500 mile weekends will cost some money, though (4.11 gears, 10 miles per gallon). Other than that, you can enjoy your cruise....
I was definitely wishing for more stall speed at the line....maybe I can coax 2500 rpm footbrake if I put more weight on the pedal (footbraked at 2000).
id say play with lights a bit more.. get that r/t down another .1
Yeah, I know......since I was really only dialing in the car, I didn't really try to cut a light....just waited for a solid last yellow then nailed it, taking note of car reaction and hook time. .500 r/t will come soon.....
Cool! That's just a nice cool day away from the 10's! That 427 is making some great power. It's picking up a good 26+MPH on the back half. Looks like a lot of fun...and even more fun because it doesn't have the race car look.....sleeper surprise!!
Congratulations again!
JIM
Thanks, JIM, and all for your compliments! It actually is a street car (pump gas, 10.4 compression ratio, 900 rpm idle, Kenwood stereo system, custom built subwoofer). When driving, though, the radio is usually off and I listen to the sound of the cam.......and yes, it did surprise many "race car looking" but slower cars.
