Default Help SBC 400 no Block thread Pivot Ball Location

I am just in the process of installing a new SBC 406 and noticed there is no thread on the engine block for where my pivot ball goes.

Does anybody know if somebody sells an adpater or any solutions to this. I had a 350 block in there originally and am just in the middle of connecting everything up.

Is there a bore in the proper location and it's just not threaded or is there no hole even?

If there is a hole can you just tap it for your ball stud?

Why not use a hydraulic clutch setup? So much smoother & easier.

Some 400s had the hole and some didn't. All have the bosses though.

Scoggins Dickey makes a bracket that will bolt to the stock bellhousing and puts a pivot ball in the stock location.
