Hello I got this 427 block with a steel crank, 4 bolt main, and 12 and half to one pistons with rods, the numbers on block is T1I05Ip 6105782 it also has HIPO PASS on it, on the side it says 1-21-5, can anyone tell me what it came out of, or what year or anything about it, the block has never be bored or any machine work done on it, cylinder walls are good and shiny, THANKS FOR ANY INFO--JON--
JON. ALL 366 THRU 454 CRANKS ARE STEEL. THE DATE CODE ENDING WITH 5. ??? NO 427s IN 65 FACTORY THAT IS. WHAT NUMBER IS ON THE CRANK? TRYING TO HELP LYNN.

Can you tell what car it came out of, back in the late 60s, early 70s when I did some racing we ran 427s, and some L88 engines in a 67 chevelle in some Gassers Wars, we would buy any 427 we could find and this was a spare engine but I dont remeber where we got it, it has be in my brothers garage for a long time we need to dig back to the end of garage and see what else we can find, THANKS FOR THE INFO

Could not find anything on the 1-21-5 or PASS. I'd guess that PASS stands for "Passenger car use"
Found that HIPER and HIPERF are common stampings for both 2-bolt and 4-bolt and used in trucks and cars.
Look for a casting number 3869942 - should be located on the top left surface of the flange formed at the rear of the block for engine flywheel attachment if that flange hasn't been decked.
