Hi, I just got done converting my '81 from an automatic to a 5-spd manual and I have 1 wire unconnected under the dash and I believe its from the top of the steering column. Does anyone recognize it? Everything seems to be working ok except for the tach, its dead, but I'm guessing the the connector for that is just loose behind the guage.
Thanks

That looks like the wire from the steering column to the cruise control wiring under the dash.
Now that you have a manual transmission just remember that pushing in the clutch while you are in cruise control mode will cause the engine to race and increase rpms as it tries to maintain a constant speed. (This is not a typical thing for a driver to do while driving a manual shift vehicle however.)

Thanks for the info. My '99 TA is a manual with a 6-spd, so I have experience with the cruise control and the clutch
hey i just replaced my turn signal/multi-function switch in mt 92 and still have the same wire hanging there and can for the life of me not figure out where i disconnected the original from. can you help me out?
Anyways, I couldn't find where it went in, I believe its on top of the steering column behind the top bracket that the 2 bolts screw into from the bottom bracket that you loosen to drop the column. You need to remove the guage cluster to see the bolts to remove the top bracket. I didn't feel like taking it all apart again for a cruise control I'll never use, so I wraped it in electrical tape and wire tied it off to the side.
Good luck.
